You can also find a TriMet Park & Ride near you to leave your car. Parking is free for transit users!
Celebrating Juneteenth
This year marks the 54th annual festival and parade celebrating Juneteenth in Oregon. The holiday, which was introduced to Oregon in 1945 by shipyard worker Clara Peoples, commemorates the official end of slavery in the United States.
With the theme “Celebrate Freedom,” the Juneteenth Oregon Festival is multicultural, community-driven and family-friendly. There will be live music, guest speakers, entertainment, food, family activities and community resources.
Juneteenth has been a state holiday since 2013 and a federal holiday since 2021. The holiday itself is observed on June 19, although this year’s festival and parade are on Saturday, June 20.
