Music to your ears: Oregon Symphony digital ticket holders ride free with TriMet

New partnership for the Symphony’s 2026-2027 season covers transit fares for up to three hours before and after each show, plus parking is free at TriMet Park & Rides to connect with buses and trains

If going to the Symphony and saving money strikes a chord with you, here’s some great news: TriMet and the Oregon Symphony are teaming up for a collaboration that’s hitting all the right notes.

For the Symphony’s 2026-2027 season, kicking off on Thursday, Sept. 17 with acclaimed singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov, every concert ticket comes with a bonus: a free ride on transit to and from the show and free parking at TriMet Park & Rides.

Digital tickets for the Oregon Symphony’s 2026-27 season include TriMet fare to and from the show

With the new TriMetOregon Symphony partnership, your digital concert ticket doubles as fare on TriMet buses, MAX, LIFT Paratransit and Portland Streetcar for up to three hours before and after every concert.

And, when you go by TriMet, you unlock access to a network of free Park & Rides located throughout the Portland metro area.

“During a time when rising costs are making it harder to experience entertainment, this partnership helps reduce a major barrier,” said TriMet General Manager Sam Desue Jr. “We’re proud to partner with the Oregon Symphony to make it easier for people to access arts, culture and world-class musical performances with Oregon’s historic, GRAMMY-nominated orchestra.”

“With TriMet’s support, sharing the music we love is now easier, more accessible and more environmentally friendly than ever before,” said Oregon Symphony President & CEO Paul Snyder. “This season marks the 130th anniversary of the Oregon Symphony, and this partnership is our invitation for you to come visit us at the Schnitz to celebrate. If you haven’t come to the downtown center in a while, I encourage you to do so. It’s not coming alive, it is alive.”

The Oregon Symphony’s 2026-2027 season features a spectacular line-up that covers the spectrum of musical genres from classical to big band jazz, movie scores to contemporary collaborations.

For two nights this November, the Symphony will share the stage with hometown band Portugal. The Man, as part of the orchestra’s Sounds Like Portland series. Additional season highlights that you might not expect include seven live-to-picture cinematic concerts, including The Princess Bride and Psycho; an evening with actor and musician, Jeff Goldblum and his band, the Mildred Snitzer orchestra; and a performance by living legend and Pulitzer Prize-winning trumpeter, Wynton Marsalis.

Find a rhythm with TriMet and Portland Streetcar

Most of the Oregon Symphony’s performances take place at the historic Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, located at Southwest Broadway and Southwest Main Street in Downtown Portland. More than a dozen TriMet bus lines have stops within a one-to-two-minute walk from the concert hall. Stations for the MAX Orange and Yellow lines are just a few blocks to the east. Riders can connect with MAX Blue and Red lines at Pioneer Courthouse Square, a four-minute walk away, and Portland Streetcar stations are a few blocks to the west of the venue.

Harmonize your plans with trimet.org

Whether you’re planning a trip to the venue and back, or a big night out on the town, TriMet’s website, trimet.org, is an essential first stop. That’s where you’ll find an interactive trip planner, track your bus or train in real time and check for current service alerts.

Planning your trip is easy: Click the “Planner” tab on the homepage and enter your starting point. For the destination, type “Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall” to receive a customized itinerary, including the three best transit options for your trip.

TriMet’s Park & Rides are 100% free, as long as you’re using the transit system. So, if you’d like free parking to be part of your Oregon Symphony experience, adjust the settings in the Planner to include the option called “Drive to Park & Ride.” You’ll be directed to the nearest Park & Ride location, and your total trip time will change to include additional driving time. The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall does not have a dedicated parking garage, and you won’t beat TriMet’s price of free parking for riders.

TriMet’s Trip Planner has everything you need to reach your destination with confidence, from walking directions to the stop or station, to when the next bus or train will arrive.

Before heading to your stop or station, concertgoers are encouraged to locate their digital ticket and have it handy for their ride. Your digital ticket is also your proof of fare.

Tune up your transit skills

If you’re new to transit or haven’t taken a ride in a while, TriMet welcomes you to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Check out the Rules for Riding before you go. If something isn’t right with your trip, contact TriMet security anytime by calling 503-238-RIDE (7433) and pressing #9. You can also reach TriMet security at the blue-light security phones, located on MAX platforms and at transit stations across the region. In an emergency, call 911.
