Rip City hoops are back: Catching TriMet for Trail Blazer games

by

TriMet is ready for the start of basketball season

Fall is here. That means cooler weather, pumpkin spice everything and the start of the Portland Trail Blazers’ 2017/18 season. The Blazers’ pre-season starts today, Tuesday, October 3, with the regular season home opener on Tuesday, October 24. TriMet is ready to get you to there and back so you can worry about the score and playoff hopes instead of traffic and parking.

Your transit game plan

All MAX lines serve the Rose Quarter area. The MAX Blue, Green and Red lines stop at the Rose Quarter Transit Center, and the MAX Orange/Yellow Line connects you to the Interstate/Rose Quarter Station. Both are steps from the Moda Center entrances.

Prefer the bus? At least eight lines serve the area, providing you another convenient way to catch all the action from tipoff to the final buzzer.

Tap on and be there for tip off

Valid fare is required on all TriMet buses and MAX trains. Pick up a Hop Fastpass™ card at a retail outlet, load money on the card and then tap the reader on the platform or on board the bus. Learn how easy it is. Or just tap your phone equipped with a mobile wallet to pay your fare. Just please be sure to tap every time you board to validate.

Clock management

Minutes count when the game is on the line. Plan ahead by visiting trimet.org and use TransitTracker from your phone or computer for the latest info on arrival times, transfers and delays.

Play it safe!

Stay safe around bus stops and train stations. Follow the signals and signs and look both ways before crossing streets or tracks. Be safe, save that energy for rooting on the home team and have a great time.
