The second annual outdoor illumination celebration happening this week on Portland’s Eastbank waterfront

That upcoming bright spot on your calendar is the Portland Winter Light Fest happening February 1-4 along the Willamette River’s Eastbank Esplanade and TriMet will get you there with some shining transit options.

TriMet is proud to be a sponsor of the Winter Light Fest, a free, all-ages art event that draws inspiration from cities around the globe to celebrate the season of cold and dark with warmth, light and community. Regional artists are using their skill and technology to create stunning light displays and performances. The installations are centered around OMSI, along the Eastbank Esplanade to the Oregon Rail Heritage Center. New this year, the Portland Winter Light Festival will expand across Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People, to the west side of the Willamette River with displays at the Zidell Yards.

More details about the event can be found at their website: http://pdxwlf.com/

Going by transit to the festival is easy. MAX Orange Line, bus lines 9 and 17 and the Portland Streetcar A and B loops serve the OMSI/SE Water Ave Station, on the east side of Tilikum Crossing, and the South Waterfront/SW Moody Station, on the west side. Also bus lines 4, 6, 10, 14, 15 and 30 serve a stop nearby at the Hawthorne Bridge.
