New Line 179 to run for three months
Beginning June 14, TriMet’s Line 79-Clackamas/Oregon City will be detoured due to an Oregon Department of Transportation project to raise the overcrossing of I-205 at SE Strawberry Lane. The project is expected to last about three months, during which Strawberry Lane will be closed.
During this closure, Line 79 will be detoured onto the 82nd Drive crossing over I-205. Doing this will remove regular service from bus stops along Oatfield, Webster and Strawberry Lane. To mitigate the affect on our riders, including those making connections with Line 34-River Rd and Line 154-Willamette, TriMet is adding a new route, Line 179-Webster/Oatfield.
The temporary Line 179 will serve the Line 79 stops on Oatfield and Webster. Stops on SE Strawberry Lane will be closed. Line 179 will maintain the same span and frequency of service as the 79. Riders can transfer between the 79 and 179 at designated stops on 82nd Drive and on Princeton Avenue. If transferring between the two lines, add an additional 30 minutes to your trips. TriMet’s online trip planner can help plan trips through the area as well as throughout our service area. Go to trimet.org/tripplanner.
