Detours and minor delays possible along route

Get ready for a rosy weekend with warming temperatures forecast and the annual Albertina Kerr’s Race for the Roses taking to the streets in and around Portland City Center Sunday, April 19. If you are riding TriMet through the area before noon, plan some extra time as buses and trains may experience some delays and fourteen bus routes will be on detours.

Bus service impacts

From 5:30 a.m. to about 12 p.m., 14 bus lines will be detoured due the event. Those lines are 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 17, 19, 35, 44, 54, 56, 58 and 77. Some other bus lines may be stopped briefly to allow runners by. Please plan extra time if traveling through the Portland City Center.

MAX service impacts

All MAX trains travel through area and, like buses, trains may stop briefly at a handful of locations to allow runners to pass by. Please plan for minor delays.

Take TriMet to the Race for the Roses

The half marathon, 10k and 5k races all kick off from the Oregon Convention Center. The MAX Blue, Green and Red lines stop at the Convention Center, as does bus Line 6-Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. The MAX Yellow Line drops you at Interstate/Rose Quarter, a short distance from the Convention Center.
