Switch repair in Portland City Center to disrupt MAX Blue and Red lines Sunday, April 19

Shuttle buses serving stations between Providence Park and Morrison/SW 3rd

TriMet will perform repairs on a segment of light rail track and switch at SW 11th and Yamhill in Portland City Center during the overnight hours this Sunday, April 19, 2015.

During the temporary overnight closure, MAX Blue and Red line service will be disrupted from about 9 p.m. Sunday, April 19 through about12:30 a.m. Monday, April 20. Shuttle buses will be in place to accommodate riders. Buses will pick up riders across the street from affected MAX platforms, between Providence Park and Morrison/SW 3rd, except for the Yamhill District Station, which cannot be accessed by buses. Riders can instead use the nearby Morrison/SW 3rd Ave MAX Station

TriMet staff will be at every affected station to help direct and assist customers. Riders should plan an additional 10-15 minutes for their trips during the disruption. Streetcar service will not be impacted.  Vehicular traffic will not be affected on Yamhill. Traffic control will be in place on 11th Avenue reducing it to one traffic lane, directing vehicles around the work site.

Further repairs will be needed to this area of track in the future that will require a a longer closure that is tentatively planned during Fiscal Year 2016 (July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016).

We thank our riders in advance for their patience and understanding while these repairs are completed and we thank our staff for their continued commitment to safety.
