Just a few days left to share your ideas on the final four names for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Bridge!

There’s just four days left to weigh in on the final four names for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Bridge. The finalists for the unique transit bridge are Abigail Scott Duniway, Cascadia, Tillicum Crossing and Wy’east. Public feedback will close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.

The comments will be provided to the Bridge Naming Committee for consideration. This is the first time the public has had the opportunity to suggest names for a bridge over the Willamette River in our area, and weigh in on the final selection. The committee used the criteria below to select the final four names with a focus that the name would reflect regional importance, including:

  • Biographical info (if commemorative)
  • Any special cultural meaning?
  • What will it mean 100 years from now?
  • Spelling
  • Pronunciation
  • Sound/ring/flow
  • Regional perspective
