Toy motorcade and Jingle Bell Run/Walk lead to some delays, reroutes

Two holiday events taking to the streets of Portland this weekend will affect TriMet service this weekend.

ABATE Toy Run

First, on Saturday, Dec. 7, a motorcade of motorcyclists will be delivering toys to Shriners Hospital for Children as part of the 2013 ABATE Toy Run. The motorcycles will be traveling from the area of 22nd and Powell in southeast Portland to the hospital on Marquam Hill in southwest Portland from 12:15 p.m. through about 1:15 p.m. Bus lines 8, 9, 17, 19, 33 and 70 may experience delays up to 20 minutes will be during that time. Jingle Bell Run/Walk

Then on Sunday, Dec. 8, the Jingle Bell Run takes to the streets of downtown and northwest Portland. Events for the Arthritis Foundation fundraiser begin at 8:45 a.m. and run through about noon. During the event, four bus lines – 12, 17, 19 and 20 – will be on detour. Other bus lines and MAX trains may experience minor delays as they stop at times to let runners and walkers through.
