Train to plane or transit to train—take TriMet this holiday travel season

Travel tips and TriMet’s holiday schedule

Whether you’re going to Grandma’s or Guam, TriMet is the quick, convenient and cost-effective way to get out of town.

Train to plane: MAX Red Line to PDX
TriMet’s MAX Red Line provides direct service to Portland International Airport. Millions of airline travelers, airport employees and visitors have taken the Red Line to and from Portland International Airport in the light rail line’s 12 years of service.

MAX Red Line was the first train-to-plane connection on the West Coast and continues to serve as a quick connection to bypass traffic. You can get from downtown Portland to PDX in just 38 minutes. Plus, it’s easy to roll your luggage on board. Just keep track of it and in your possession. Trains run about every 15 minutes most of the day. Plan a trip to the airport.

Transit to train: connect to Union Station and Greyhound
Not going by air? You can also take transit to the train. MAX Green Line, MAX Yellow Line and various bus lines serve Amtrak’s Union Station and the Greyhound Bus Terminal. Plan a trip to Union Station or Greyhound.

Thanksgiving holiday schedule

Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving Day), we are operating on Sunday schedules, and customer service offices will be closed. Several lines do not have service on Sundays and the Portland Streetcar runs on a reduced Sunday schedule, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly.
