Light rail construction requires lane restrictions at SE Holgate Blvd and 17th from Sept. 12-20

24/7 construction allows light rail tracks to be installed across Holgate Blvd

The intersection of SE Holgate Blvd and 17th Avenue will be constrained for five days starting Sept. 12 while crews construct the light rail track crossing. Beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 through 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, Holgate will be narrowed to one lane in each direction, and 17th Avenue will be narrowed to one lane only with flaggers directing two-way traffic. Right turns may be prohibited for large vehicles.

The construction period is being extended by four days in order to take advantage of weather and further project progress. To minimize traffic impacts, construction will occur 24/7. Activities outside normal construction hours are approved under a noise variance from the City of Portland Noise Control Office, 503-823-7350.
