Less than two weeks left to exchange old-style tickets

Help spread the word before tickets become confetti!

TMconfetti3Time is running out to exchange older style TriMet tickets for new ones. After Monday, Dec. 31, riders will not be able to exchange tickets that do not have the foil security strip. Also, they will not be able to upgrade or exchange 1-Zone and 2-Zone tickets. All-Zone passes with the foil strip do not need to be exchanged. Those remain valid.

TriMet has exchanged more than 240,000 old tickets for new ones this year.

How to exchange old-style tickets

Ticket exchanges must be made at the TriMet Ticket Office in downtown Portland before the end of business on Monday, Dec. 31.

TriMet Ticket Office
701 SW 6th Ave/Pioneer Courthouse Square, Portland
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
*Closed on Christmas Day

Non-foil tickets

Non-foil tickets
Tickets without a shiny foil strip are no longer accepted. The foil security strip helps deter fraud.

Zone-Tickets1-Zone and 2-Zone tickets
In September, TriMet ended the zone system and moved to a simpler “go-anywhere” fare system. Since the change, 1-Zone and 2-Zone tickets are no longer valid without an upgrade. Riders can upgrade the zone tickets for 40 cents, either on a bus one at a time or in bulk at the TriMet Ticket Office, but that ends
December 31st.

Help spread the word

Tell your family, tell your friends, tell your friends’ families. TriMet doesn’t want people stuck with tickets they can’t use so help us spread the word.
