Cheering on the US women’s soccer team or rocking with The Boss? TriMet plans extra service for Nov. 28

Express buses and extra MAX trains to help riders get to and from events
TriMet is adding extra bus and MAX service to get people to and from two big events on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at JELD-WEN Field and the Rose Garden. Riders should expect larger than normal crowds during the evening rush hour. Those who don’t regularly ride the MAX are reminded that fares are now required throughout the MAX system.

Women’s soccer event at JELD-WEN Field

The U.S. Women take on the Republic of Ireland Women at JELD-WEN Field at 7 p.m. Express buses will run between downtown Portland and JELD-WEN Field before and after the game. In addition to express and regular service buses, MAX Blue and Red line trains deliver riders to the stadium.

Express bus service – 5:30 p.m. through 7 p.m., and immediately following the game

  • Before the match, catch buses across from MAX stations at Mall/SW 5th Ave and Galleria/SW 10th Ave.
  • After the match, catch buses across from stadium’s main entrance on Morrison Street at 18th Ave. Riders will be dropped off at three MAX stations (Library/SW 9th Ave, Pioneer Square South and Mall/SW 4th Ave) to get to parking garages or connect with MAX Green or Yellow line trains.

Extra MAX service

  • Extra Blue and Red line trains will run after the match to help riders get on their way.
  • The nearby Kings Hill/SW Salmon St MAX platform will be closed one hour before game time and remain closed until about an hour and a half after the game. The station platform is narrow and big crowds can present a safety concern.

Bruce Springsteen concert at the Rose Garden

Legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen will rock the Rose Garden at 7:30 p.m. All MAX lines, and several bus lines, serve the Rose Garden area. Extra trains will be put in service as needed to help concert goers leaving the event. The Rose Garden is in the former Free Rail Zone. Fares are now required in the area and throughout the MAX system.

Convenient day passes eliminate need for two purchases

Avoid making two purchases by buying a day pass. It’s the same price as two 2-hour tickets.

Day Pass Fares

Youth:                         $3.30
Honored citizens:       $2
