Some MAX trains may stop running Tuesday while the presidential motorcade is in route to and from the Convention Center

TriMet riders should expect delays related to President Obama’s visit to Portland Tuesday, July 24. The president’s exact itinerary is not being disclosed for security reasons however, we anticipate there will be delays to transit service, especially whenever the presidential motorcade is rolling.

Service impacts

Riders should plan extra time to reach their destinations while the president is in town.

  • MAX trains may stop and hold at platforms while the presidential motorcade is in route to and from the Oregon Convention Center.
  • The Convention Center MAX Station will be closed during the visit. The Rose Quarter Transit Station and the NE 7th Station will remain open.
  • Bus service may also be impacted around the Convention Center during the president’s visit.
